Terms of Service

This Terms of Service agreement is a legally binding contract between you ('the User') and Preet ('we', 'us', 'our'). Please read these terms carefully before registering or using the Preet platform.

By creating an account, downloading, or using the Preet app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, you must stop using the platform and delete your account.

1. Eligibility & Age Requirements

To use Preet, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration.
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of Nepal.
  • Not have been previously convicted of a violent crime, sexual offence, or harassment-related offence.
  • Not have a previously banned Preet account.

2. Account Security & Authenticity

Your account is verified via a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number. You are solely responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to upload only authentic, current photographs of yourself. Misrepresentation, catfishing, impersonation, or operating duplicate accounts will result in immediate and permanent termination of access without prior notice.

3. User Content & Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of the content you upload to Preet — including your photos, bio, audio messages, and prompt answers. By uploading content, you grant Preet a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the app's services to you and your matches.

Ephemeral Media ("Peek"): Content shared via Peek is designed to be short-lived and non-storable within the app. However, Preet cannot prevent external screen recording or hardware capture. You share Peek content at your own discretion.

4. Prohibited Conduct

Preet maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harmful behaviour. You agree not to post, share, or transmit content that:

  • Contains explicit pornography, nudity, or sexually demeaning material.
  • Promotes hatred, racism, bigotry, or incites violence against any person or group.
  • Harasses, stalks, defames, intimidates, or bullies any other user.
  • Constitutes commercial solicitation, spam, or links intended for financial gain.
  • Impersonates another person or misrepresents your identity.
  • Attempts to scrape, reverse-engineer, or exploit the platform in any way.

Violation of these rules constitutes a material breach of this agreement and will result in an immediate, permanent ban at the account, device, and network level.

5. Premium Subscriptions & Payments

Preet offers premium features via paid subscriptions. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Payment Processors: All transactions are processed through authorised payment channels including eSewa, Khalti, Apple In-App Purchase (iOS), and Google Play Billing (Android). Your private financial data is fully secured within these native ecosystems and is never stored on Preet's servers.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel at any time through your Apple ID settings, Google Play account, or within the app.
  • Refunds: All digital transactions are generally final. Refunds are only considered in accordance with Nepal's digital consumer protection laws and the relevant app store's refund policies.

6. AI & Automated Systems

Preet uses machine learning models strictly for platform safety — detecting bots, screening harmful content, verifying profile authenticity, and improving match compatibility. These systems do not make legally binding decisions about users.

As stated in our Privacy Policy, none of your personal content — including voice notes, photos, or messages — is ever used to train AI models.

7. Disclaimer of Liability

Preet is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Important: Preet does not conduct criminal background checks on its users. We are not liable for any real-world interactions, damages, emotional harm, or losses arising from offline meetings or the conduct of other users. Please exercise caution and good judgement when meeting someone in person.

8. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nepal, including the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 and the Individual Privacy Act, 2075.

Any disputes arising from use of the Preet platform shall be submitted to the competent courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.

9. Changes to These Terms

Preet reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. For material changes, we will notify you via an in-app alert or push notification before the updated terms take effect. Continued use of Preet after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
